Bettermile is seeking a Full-Stack Developer to join our Better Tracking Tribe, where you will help redefine the last-mile experience. In this role, you will balance high-impact individual contributions with strategic influence, focusing primarily on front-end execution while helping to define back-end standards. You'll be part of a company of 130+ people, contributing to a high-trust, flexible environment.
What You'll Do
- Deliver high-quality code for existing products, including implementation and bug fixing.
- Lead technical research and implementation for greenfield proof-of-concept projects.
- Help modernize our technology stack and formalize front-end engineering foundations.
- Take ownership of a reliability initiative, implementing automated testing and compatibility standards.
- Partner with the team to define QA/SRE standards and professionalize development processes.
- Work with your mentor and product owner to balance rapid delivery with long-term system stability.
- Collaborate closely with non-technical stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- A strong foundation in software engineering with 5+ years of hands-on experience.
- Primary focus on front-end development.
- Expertise in JavaScript and modern front-end frameworks.
- A quality-first approach with professional experience in automated testing.
- Experience with Kotlin, Java, Scala, or similar back-end languages.
- Ability to thrive with high autonomy and comfort with shared ownership.
- Skill in finding your own path and asking the right questions when documentation is imperfect.
- Ability to translate complex technical discussions into clear concepts for non-technical teammates.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to DevOps practices and experience owning cloud infrastructure.
- Practical knowledge of system design principles.
- A practical interest in Kotlin and Vue.js, demonstrated through professional experience or personal projects.
Technical Stack
- Front-End: Vue 3.5+ using Composition API, Vitest 4.x, Playwright 1.56, JavaScript, Pinia.
- Back-End: Kotlin, Spring Framework, PostgreSQL, Testcontainers.
- Infrastructure/CI/CD: AWS services (CDK, EC2, ECS, S3, EventBridge, SQS, Location Services, API Gateway), GitHub Actions.
