Vitol is hiring a Full Stack Developer to expand our global analytics platform, which is fueled by data from our in-house trading system and external sources. You will interface directly with the business, from tank operators to top management, to drive requirements and deliver a wide range of capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate directly with the business to design and implement scalable systems with a high degree of autonomy.
- Build new analytics platforms for traders, analysts, researchers, and data scientists.
- Partner with the business to identify requirements and develop innovative solutions that influence the firm's commercial decisions.
- Work with our global team to create and maintain a variety of internal applications and data streams.
- Turn user feedback into actionable design improvements and bug fixes.
- Implement clean, well-documented, tested, and extensible code to satisfy business requirements.
- Provide business applications support and training to users on day-to-day issues.
- Work on exciting and diverse projects, such as GIS-based systems and commodity fundamentals trading tools.
What We're Looking For
- University degree (Bachelor or Master) in Computer Science, MIS, or an equivalent field.
- 4+ years’ experience working with C# and related .NET technologies within global enterprise solutions, preferably with experience using ASP.NET Core and WebAPIs.
- Awareness of continuous integration and delivery concepts/technologies.
- Experience with RDBMS and SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Proficiency in translating requirements from a non-technical audience into fully end-to-end solutions.
- Takes great pride in the finished project, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proactive and user-focused, with a can-do attitude and a genuine interest in the functional as well as technical aspects of each challenge.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Nice to Have
- Experience in GraphQL or gRPC is a plus.
- 4+ years in front-end development, preferably web (React/TypeScript).
- Excellent user interface building skills, perfectionist approach to styling/CSS.
- Passion for creating the best user experience.
- Experience in Reactive Extensions (RX) preferred.
- Passion and appreciation for UI/UX.
- Previous experience in the commodities and/or trading industry.
