Responsibilities
- Conduct ongoing QA of the French (FR-FR) ecommerce experience, ensuring accuracy, fluency, and consistency with established brand voice
- Review and refine AI-generated translations directly in Smartling, making necessary linguistic and tonal adjustments
- Translate net-new website content from English into French, maintaining clarity, accuracy, and conversion best practices
- Identify and flag inconsistencies, errors, or areas for improvement across the French site
- Translate and adapt English marketing content into FR-FR across channels (CRM, paid, social, retail, press, campaigns, and more)
- Execute within an established brand voice, ensuring all outputs feel natural and market-appropriate
- Apply copywriting judgment to improve flow, readability, and effectiveness—not just direct translation
Requirements
- Native French speaker based in France
- Strong written English proficiency and understanding
- Experience translating or editing marketing / ecommerce content
- Comfortable working in Slack, Figma, Google Docs, and Google Slides
- Detail-oriented with strong proofreading skills and brand sensitivity
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Smartling or similar translation management systems
Additional Information
- 15 hrs/Week
- Ongoing, retainer-style role with a consistent flow of work across website and marketing initiatives
- Projects are managed via Airtable and Smartling, with clearly defined priorities and turnaround times typically ranging from 1–5 business days
- Website translation review must be completed directly inside Smartling, the translation platform that connects to Shopify
- Marketing translation will be done within a variety of tools, including Figma, Frame.io, and Google Docs/Slides
