Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with financial planning, analysis, and treasury leadership to identify automation opportunities that deliver significant business value, beginning with a deep understanding of core financial processes such as period-end closing, variance analysis, and liquidity stress testing.
- Rapidly build practical prototypes using the company's existing AI platform as the primary foundation, prioritizing reuse over new development unless justified.
- Lead the finance automation strategy in collaboration with senior finance leadership, converting complex financial processes—including budgeting, general ledger reconciliation, multi-entity consolidation, and regulatory documentation—into clear engineering specifications and communicating technical limitations back to non-technical stakeholders.
- Determine the optimal strategy for finance tools by assessing whether capabilities should be built in-house, leveraged from internal teams, purchased from third parties, or phased out.
- Ensure all automated financial outputs meet audit standards by designing systems with traceability, reviewability, and defensibility, emphasizing SOX compliance, separation of duties, and human oversight from the outset.
- Promote user adoption through hands-on demonstrations, informal training sessions, and continuous feedback collection to ensure solutions are effectively integrated into finance team workflows.
