Responsibilities
- Lead professional classes in balance, strengthening, flexibility, endurance, and other beneficial topics for Fitness Center participants.
- Collaborate with the Fitness Director to design and implement a curriculum and class schedule that meets participant needs, offers variety and frequency, and follows regulations and best practices.
- Supervise open swim sessions as scheduled to monitor pool use and ensure participant safety (only at sites with aquatic facilities).
- Administer standardized assessments consistently and uniformly.
- Educate residents and caregivers about interventions and programs, and communicate effectively with them.
- Maintain a clean, safe fitness area and ensure equipment is in good condition.
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and oxygen saturation during fitness activities when applicable.
- Complete accurate, legible, and timely documentation that supports the services provided.
- Accurately capture and bill for services provided when applicable, following company policies and procedures.
- Manage personal schedule to meet resident needs.
- Remain flexible and adaptable to changes within the department or organization.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current nationally recognized CPR certification.
- Current Personal Training Certification.
- Current Group Fitness Certification.
- Ability to relate professionally, positively, and cooperatively with residents, guests, families, and employees at all levels.
- Willingness and ability to travel to other PHS communities.
- Demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to communicate with all customers.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in the fitness industry.
