Rockwell Automation is looking for a Firmware Engineer to analyze, design, and develop code for embedded firmware applications. You will be responsible for optimizing firmware for performance, memory, simplicity, reliability, and safety, while also contributing to process improvement and technical leadership.
What You'll Do
- Analyze, debug, and modify released firmware to provide updated solutions developed in C/C++.
- Resolve reported anomalies in collaboration with customer support and test teams.
- Optimize firmware solutions with respect to runtime, memory utilization, simplicity, reliability, and safety.
- Actively determine new ways to improve the overall product.
- Develop, review, debug, and correct firmware solutions written in C/C++.
- Actively search for ways to improve overall productivity through process improvement.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Nice to Have
- Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Up to 10% travel.
- Master of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with focus on firmware development or control algorithms.
- Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Experience in Python.
- Experience in embedded software development with an emphasis on the analysis, design, programming, and testing of real-time software systems using modern engineering practices in C/C++.
- Functions effectively in a team environment as an individual contributor.
- Effectively expresses opinions and accepting of different viewpoints.
- Open to receiving and sharing new ideas.
