Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations including individual pig care, transportation logistics, and administration of vaccines.
- Manage swine health protocols, ensure accurate and timely documentation, and coordinate animal marketing efforts.
- Supervise the full lifecycle care of pigs within a large finishing pod housing 25,000 to 30,000 animals.
- Lead and coordinate a small crew of 3 to 4 direct reports to ensure efficient and safe site operations.

- Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., though adjustments may be necessary based on operational needs.
- Pig loading and unloading duties may occur outside standard working hours.
- Position requires 24/7 on-call availability to respond to emergencies at assigned farms or involving livestock.
- Regular weekend shifts are part of the rotating schedule.
- Summer work conditions may involve prolonged exposure to temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Winter work conditions may involve prolonged exposure to temperatures below zero degrees Fahrenheit.
- Facilities and access roads may become extremely muddy, snow-covered, or icy during and after heavy rain or winter storms.
- Work environments may include high noise levels; hearing protection is provided.
- Employees may be exposed to odors, dust, and gases that could be irritating or hazardous without proper safety practices.
- Potential exists for contact with hazardous materials during routine or emergency procedures.
