Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain business unit dashboards and board-level reporting packages using Syft
- Produce monthly variance analyses comparing actuals to budget and prior months for leadership review
- Collaborate with General Managers to identify reporting requirements and key performance drivers
- Analyze and explain fluctuations in revenue, costs, and gross margin
- Convert financial results into clear, actionable insights for non-financial teams
- Respond to on-demand analytical requests from various departments
- Assist the Assistant Controller with specified reconciliation and closing duties
- Manage the recognition of deferred revenue across SaaS offerings
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations for supervisory review
- Examine account balances and investigate inconsistencies proactively
- Oversee intercompany and cross-business unit financial transactions
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned close responsibilities
- Lead expense reporting, categorization, and trend evaluation using Ramp
- Audit expense coding for consistency and correctness across business units
- Track spending patterns and proactively highlight irregularities or policy concerns
- Maintain financial dashboards and templates at the business unit level
- Verify data consistency between accounting records and reporting outputs
- Optimize integrations between QuickBooks, Ramp, Syft, and related platforms
- Identify ways to simplify reporting and closing workflows
- Document financial procedures and enhance interdepartmental processes
- Strengthen internal controls and improve data integrity across systems
- Support audit readiness and documentation of financial controls
Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of experience in accounting or finance operations
- Hands-on experience with month-end close procedures, including reconciliations and journal entries
- Background working in multi-entity or multi-business-unit organizations
- Strong analytical abilities with a focus on identifying root causes of variances
- Experience using QuickBooks Online or similar cloud-based accounting software
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including pivot tables, lookups, modeling, and variance analysis
- Knowledge of US GAAP principles
- Experience with financial reporting tools and dashboard creation
- Tech-savvy with practical use of AI to enhance productivity without compromising accuracy
- Clear written communication skills in English for asynchronous collaboration
- Availability for 4 to 5 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time
Nice to Have
- Experience in SaaS, technology, or e-commerce, particularly with deferred revenue, MRR, and cohort analysis
- Familiarity with expense management platforms such as Ramp, Expensify, or Brex
- Experience with financial reporting or business intelligence tools like Syft, Fathom, or QuickBooks
- Prior experience supporting business unit leaders or non-finance executives
- Track record of improving financial processes or building reporting systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

What Success Looks Like
- In Months 1–2: You independently handle assigned reconciliations and reporting; grasp the multi-entity structure and business models; and begin forming relationships with GM stakeholders
- In Months 3–6: Your variance analysis is insightful and anticipated by GMs; Syft dashboards and board reports operate smoothly; you support the close efficiently and catch issues early; deferred revenue is accurately tracked and documented
- In Months 6–12: You are the primary contact for business unit financial reporting; proactively surface trends and insights; implement process improvements that boost efficiency or accuracy; and reliably back up the Assistant Controller
