Field Service Technician – Medical Equipment (Jupiter/West Palm Beach, FL)
Role Overview
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting advanced medical systems, including linear accelerators and imaging equipment, across the Jupiter to West Palm Beach region. Your work ensures that critical healthcare technology operates safely and efficiently, often during non-business hours to minimize disruption to patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on medical systems following established technical procedures.
- Manage daily workloads and travel logistics to service multiple customer sites within the assigned territory.
- Diagnose system performance issues and apply technical expertise to resolve them promptly.
- Document service activities accurately, including work orders, parts usage, and expense reporting.
- Monitor system functionality and escalate complex issues when necessary to ensure timely resolution.
- Use handheld diagnostic tools such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes to verify equipment performance.
- Stay current with technical documentation in both digital and printed formats to support accurate service delivery.
- Follow strict compliance protocols to maintain site access, including background checks, immunizations, and credentialing requirements.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and demonstrate foundational knowledge in electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and basic computer operations. Experience with test equipment and hand tools is essential. You must be able to communicate clearly with both internal teams and healthcare professionals, manage time effectively, and maintain detailed records.
Preference will be given to applicants with vocational training or military experience in electronics. You must reside near or be willing to relocate to the Jupiter/West Palm Beach area and be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Technical Environment
You'll work with PC-based systems, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and electronic documentation platforms. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and enterprise systems for HR and logistics is required.
Work Model
This is a field-based role requiring regular onsite visits to healthcare facilities throughout the local region. While remote in nature, the position demands physical presence at customer locations during evenings or off-hours as needed.
