Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct all surveying and mapping operations within your market area, including FDOT projects, while meeting project timelines and requirements.
- Work with FDOT representatives and project stakeholders to clarify project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
- Create and review project proposals, cost estimates, and work plans for FDOT approval.
- Ensure all project activities adhere to FDOT standards, specifications, and surveying procedures.
- Lead a team of surveyors and mappers, offering direction, training, and support.
- Delegate tasks, set priorities, and assess team performance to achieve project goals.
- Promote a collaborative atmosphere that encourages teamwork, knowledge exchange, and professional development.
- Coordinate with other departments and subcontractors on FDOT projects to ensure seamless progress.
- Use advanced surveying equipment, software, and techniques to conduct accurate field surveys and measurements.
- Perform surveys for highway alignments, right-of-way boundaries, control points, and topographic features.
- Prepare and review survey plats, legal descriptions, right-of-way maps, and other related documents.
- Ensure proper geodetic control and coordinate systems are established and maintained for FDOT projects.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to guarantee accuracy and compliance with FDOT surveying and mapping standards.
- Regularly review survey data, measurements, and mapping information to identify and correct discrepancies or errors.
- Conduct quality audits on completed surveys to confirm adherence to FDOT guidelines.
- Stay informed about updates and changes in FDOT standards and procedures, and apply them to projects.
- Serve as the main contact for FDOT representatives and project stakeholders on surveying and mapping issues.
- Communicate project progress, issues, and findings to FDOT and other stakeholders clearly and concisely.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with all clients, including FDOT officials and stakeholders, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
- Seek opportunities for additional projects and FDOT work, and collaborate with business development teams to secure new contracts.
