Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and assist in preparing written content for publications, briefings, or similar materials
  • Gather, analyze, and summarize data to support policy-related research
  • Carry out literature reviews to support analytical frameworks
  • Help organize and manage logistics for events and meetings
  • Complete various administrative duties as needed
  • Collaborate on cross-disciplinary research focused on shaping AI governance and policy
  • Develop an independent research project over the internship period, concluding with a formal presentation to senior leadership

Hybrid — Washington, DC

  • Internship duration: approximately 12 weeks
  • Work hours: minimum 20 to 30 hours per week, with some flexibility around academic schedules
  • Opportunity to attend meetings, think tank events, professional development workshops, and public Brookings events
  • Networking opportunities with other interns across the Institution
  • PhD students are not eligible for internships
  • Position open to hybrid and/or remote applicants, provided they reside outside of the following states: Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Michigan, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Washington
