About the Role

This role involves leading civil engineering tasks for land development projects, including site layout, grading, stormwater management, and permitting, while collaborating with planners, designers, and clients to ensure timely and compliant project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of land site plans for residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects
  • Perform grading and earthwork calculations to optimize cut and fill balance
  • Design stormwater management systems in compliance with local regulations
  • Prepare civil engineering drawings and construction documentation
  • Conduct field reviews and support construction observation activities
  • Coordinate with surveyors, landscape architects, and utility providers
  • Support project permitting with local agencies and review boards
  • Utilize CAD and civil design software for plan development
  • Review technical submittals from contractors and subcontractors
  • Ensure designs meet ADA, DOT, and environmental standards
  • Manage multiple projects within deadlines and budget constraints
  • Assist in the development of engineering calculations and reports
  • Participate in client meetings and project coordination sessions
  • Integrate sustainable design practices into site development
  • Mentor junior engineering staff and provide technical guidance
  • Evaluate existing site conditions and recommend improvements
  • Support feasibility studies and due diligence assessments
  • Prepare cost estimates and material takeoffs for civil components
  • Collaborate with traffic engineers on access and circulation plans
  • Review zoning regulations and development codes for compliance
