AECOM is hiring an Environmental Project Manager - Remediation/CERCLA

About the Role

This role involves overseeing environmental remediation efforts under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, coordinating with technical staff, clients, and regulatory agencies to deliver effective cleanup solutions on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental remediation projects governed by federal and state regulations
  • Manage project scope, budget, and schedule for hazardous waste site cleanups
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies during site assessments and remedial actions
  • Supervise field and technical staff during investigation and cleanup phases
  • Prepare and review technical reports, work plans, and compliance documentation
  • Ensure adherence to CERCLA, RCRA, and other applicable environmental laws
  • Serve as primary client contact for project updates and deliverables
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop remediation strategies
  • Oversee sampling plans and data interpretation from environmental monitoring
  • Direct contractor activities and ensure safety protocols are followed
  • Facilitate public or stakeholder meetings when required
  • Manage change orders and project documentation
  • Perform site visits and field oversight as needed
  • Support development of proposals and project bids
  • Maintain quality assurance and control processes
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance teams on liability issues
  • Track project performance metrics and reporting
  • Ensure timely submittal of regulatory milestones
  • Integrate sustainability practices into remediation design
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior staff
  • Utilize project management software for scheduling and budgeting
  • Address community health and environmental justice concerns
  • Prepare closure documents and post-remediation monitoring plans
  • Stay current with evolving environmental regulations
  • Support emergency response activities when necessary
