Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of environmental, health, and safety policies
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory standards
- Investigate incidents and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions
- Manage emergency preparedness and response planning
- Oversee employee safety training programs
- Track and analyze safety performance metrics
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies during audits and inspections
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for all EHS programs
- Support sustainability initiatives and environmental reporting
- Evaluate new equipment and processes for safety risks
- Promote a culture of safety across all levels of the organization
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials
- Monitor air emissions, wastewater discharge, and waste management practices
- Implement corrective actions following non-compliance findings
- Assist in risk assessments for new projects
- Manage contractor safety programs
- Update safety data sheets and chemical inventories
- Lead safety committee meetings
- Ensure fire protection systems are operational and inspected
- Support continuous improvement of EHS management systems
- Administer respiratory protection and hearing conservation programs
- Track occupational illness and injury trends
- Ensure machine guarding and lockout/tagout procedures are followed
- Provide EHS guidance during facility expansions or modifications
