STAN AI is hiring an Engineering Team Lead

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical direction for your squad — architecture decisions, code quality standards, and engineering best practices
  • Drive full-stack feature development in Node.js / TypeScript across our web and API layers
  • Set the bar for code review — thorough, constructive, and educational
  • Identify and address technical debt proactively, balancing velocity with long-term maintainability
  • Collaborate with the Director of Engineering on broader platform and architecture decisions
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 2–3 full-stack engineers
  • Run sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives — keep the team focused and unblocked
  • Conduct regular 1:1s and provide meaningful feedback that helps your engineers level up
  • Participate actively in hiring — sourcing, interviewing, and closing strong engineering talent
  • Foster a culture of psychological safety, ownership, and continuous improvement
  • Partner closely with product and design to translate requirements into well-scoped technical work
  • Push back on scope when needed — you're a voice for engineering feasibility and quality
  • Bring ideas to the table, not just execution — we want leaders who think about the product, not just the ticket queue
  • Contribute to roadmap conversations and help identify opportunities for technical innovation
  • Champion AI tooling adoption within your team — Claude Code
  • Drive a culture where AI accelerates your team's output: code generation, test writing, documentation, code review
  • Stay current on the AI tooling landscape and bring recommendations to engineering leadership
  • Collaborate with the broader team on integrating LLM capabilities into the product itself
  • Own your team's delivery — estimates, commitments, and follow-through
  • Surface risks early and communicate blockers clearly to engineering leadership
  • Help define and refine engineering processes as the team scales
  • Contribute to on-call and incident response practices

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 1–2 years in a tech lead or senior lead capacity
  • Strong full-stack engineering skills — Node.js and TypeScript on both frontend and backend
  • Experience leading or mentoring engineers, even informally
  • Track record of owning features end to end — from architecture through to production
  • Strong communicator — you can explain technical decisions to both engineers and non-engineers
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities can shift

Nice to Have

  • Experience building AI-powered features or integrating LLMs into production applications
  • Hands-on experience with AI developer tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or similar)
  • Experience with property management, real estate, or adjacent B2B SaaS
  • Familiarity with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
  • Experience participating in hiring — interviews, take-homes, calibration

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and specialist benefits.
  • Company Macbook.
  • Free parking and shuttle service to the office.
  • Company events, in-office restaurant, and building-wide perks.
  • Unlimited ping pong and espresso!
