About the Role
This role involves leading engineering efforts in AI product development, working cross-functionally to define strategy, build innovative systems, and scale solutions across major U.S. health systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead a group of AI/ML, data, and full-stack engineers focused on delivering AI-first software products.
- Design team structure and functions, and build a high-performing engineering culture through strategic hiring, mentorship, and retention.
- Partner with product, engineering, AI research, and data science teams to set strategic objectives and define the AI product roadmap.
- Take an active role in recruiting, hiring, and integrating new engineering talent.
- Drive innovation in early-stage product development by testing and applying cutting-edge AI/ML methods to improve user experiences.
- Promote agile practices and DevOps standards to ensure continuous improvement, automated testing, operational reliability, and efficient software releases.
- Support the creation of a diverse and inclusive engineering environment through inclusive hiring and participation in community initiatives.
- Work across the organization to strengthen mentoring and professional development programs.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years managing engineering teams, with a focus on recruiting top-tier talent and building outcome-oriented engineering groups.
- Proven experience leading teams that develop large-scale products in areas such as search, ranking, or generative AI.
- Passion for launching new products from concept to market, with a history of building agile teams that deliver innovative solutions quickly.
- Strong programming skills in modern languages including Python, Java, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Kotlin, or C#.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in healthcare or revenue cycle management is strongly preferred, though not mandatory.
