Responsibilities
- Lead a technical team of 4 to 8 engineers within a specific product domain.
- Drive successful delivery of roadmap items with focus on quality, reliability, and execution.
- Collaborate with product and design partners to convert business goals into actionable engineering plans.
- Manage planning cycles, effort estimation, and ensure timely delivery commitments.
- Identify and eliminate obstacles, including dependencies across teams.
- Balance rapid progress with sustainable engineering practices and code maintainability.
- Monitor system performance, stability, and potential risk factors.
- Deliver consistent one-on-one coaching and constructive feedback to team members.
- Manage performance evaluations, career development discussions, and growth planning.
- Recruit, interview, and integrate new engineering talent as the team expands.
- Foster a psychologically safe environment without compromising on performance standards.
- Mentor engineers in technical ownership, architecture decisions, and disciplined execution.
- Address performance concerns promptly and with empathy.
- Communicate risks, challenges, and strategic tradeoffs to senior leadership.
- Support improvements in engineering processes and contribute to broader team culture efforts.
