Responsibilities
- Actively write production code and integrate AI agents into daily development tasks to remain closely involved in technical delivery.
- Define and manage the team's technical vision, architectural choices, long-term system health, and roadmap covering new development, modernization, and technical debt reduction.
- Oversee the incremental upgrade of legacy .NET/C# and Angular components while developing new features using Python, Node.js, and React.
- Decompose projects into small, clearly scoped tasks and assign each to the most effective executor—engineer, AI agent, or yourself—while minimizing coordination overhead.
- Lead pull request reviews with timely, in-depth technical feedback to ensure code quality.
- Manage the technical debt backlog and directly resolve high-priority issues rather than relying solely on delegation.
- Recruit, assess, mentor, and develop software engineers; set technical hiring standards and guide effective collaboration with AI agents.
- Develop and maintain operational guidelines, validation procedures, and human oversight controls for AI-generated code, tests, documentation, and infrastructure changes.
- Conduct code evaluation checks before merging and retain human control over merges to production branches.
- Ensure comprehensive automated testing across unit, integration, and end-to-end levels and enforce consistent engineering practices across all development stages.
- Advance CI/CD pipelines, container-based deployments, and Infrastructure as Code for cloud-native systems.
- Monitor engineering performance and delivery metrics, including required reporting via Atlassian Compass.
- Organize bi-weekly live demonstrations from cloud environments, showcasing both product features and AI-assisted workflows.
- Collaborate with production support teams by delivering tools, automation, documentation, and runbooks to improve system operability.
- Minimize manual operational work through automation while enforcing security controls, blast radius limits, and audit trails for production changes.
- Track critical and major findings in WIZ and lead timely remediation within defined service level expectations.
- Keep architecture documentation, architectural decision records, runbooks, and AI agent instructions accurate, current, and accessible.
