About the Role
This role is for an Engineering Manager to lead the team behind a core platform that transforms inconsistent global hotel supply data into accurate, trustworthy inventory. You will modernize systems, improve data workflows, and align engineering, data/ML, and operations to enhance searchability, booking, and sales.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering team responsible for a platform that converts disorganized global hotel data into accurate, trustworthy, and market-ready inventory
- Own the domain of matching, deduplication, content enrichment, automation, and machine learning that directly impacts inventory discoverability, reliability, and commercial success
- Drive modernization of the platform's architecture, systems, and operational workflows
- Establish a unified operating model across engineering, data science, and mapping operations
- Transform inconsistent supplier inputs into consistent, high-quality inventory that supports customer search, trust, booking, and sales
Nice to Have
- Experience in entity resolution, matching, search, ranking, recommendations, classification, content enrichment, catalog quality, data quality automation, or production ML/data systems is highly relevant

About the role
- Position available remotely within the EU or in hybrid mode in Barcelona, Palma, Dublin, or Casablanca
- Engineering Manager role designed for someone who wants to remain deeply involved in complex technical and data challenges
- Responsible for leading the platform that converts messy global hotel supply data into accurate, reliable, and sellable inventory
- Lead a mission-critical domain where matching, deduplication, content enrichment, automation, and machine learning determine inventory usability
- Supplier data varies widely—same properties appear under different IDs, room types differ in naming and structure, and content may be incomplete or misassigned
- Cupid, the internal mapping platform, manages hotel, room, and content mapping alongside operational workflows to maintain high inventory quality at scale
- You will lead the team, modernize systems and processes, and create alignment across engineering, data/ML, and operations
- Your core mission: convert fragmented supplier data into trustworthy inventory that customers can search, trust, book, and sell

- have experience as an Engineering Manager or senior technical engineering leader
- have a strong software engineering / computer science background
- understand backend, data, platform, and infrastructure systems
- have led teams working on complex data-heavy products
- can mentor engineers and raise the technical bar in a relatively junior team
- can connect technical work to user value, quality, and commercial outcomes
- are structured, pragmatic, and analytical
Preferred qualifications
Experience with matching, entity resolution, search, ranking, recommendations, classification, content enrichment, catalog quality, data quality automation, or production ML/data systems would be especially relevant.
