Responsibilities
- Act as a hands-on technical lead for the squad, contributing to code (Kotlin/Spring Boot/React), reviewing PRs, and driving architectural decisions.
- Ensure the reliability and scalability of our client-facing integration layer (SDKs, APIs, SSO).
- Participate in the on-call rotation and lead incident response for the team’s services, ensuring high availability for our clients.
- Champion and drive engineering best practices.
- Manage a small team of engineers; responsible for 1:1s, performance feedback, and career growth planning.
- Foster a strong culture of ownership where engineers feel empowered to deliver high-quality work.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align individual goals with company objectives.
- Collaborate with Product Management to estimate complex integration projects and establish realistic delivery timelines.
- Serve as a technical voice in conversations with enterprise clients when deep technical expertise is required (e.g. integration scoping).
- Own the delivery process for the team, ensuring smooth sprints and predictable release cycles and on-time delivery of initiatives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong background in full-stack development.
- 1-2+ years of experience in a leadership capacity (e.g., Team Lead, Tech Lead, or Engineering Manager).
- Proven track record of balancing hands-on coding with coordination or leadership duties.
- Experience working with external client integrations, APIs, or SDKs in a SaaS environment.
- Experience working with distributed/remote teams.
- Strong grasp of software architecture, REST APIs, and modern cloud infrastructure.
- capable of deep-diving into code to unblock the team.
- A genuine interest in coaching and mentoring engineers to help them improve their craft.
- Understanding of the constraints and requirements of enterprise clients (Security, SLAs, Compliance).
- Ability to translate technical complexity into clear updates for stakeholders and non-technical partners.
- Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and managing production environments.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with AI-assisted/agentic coding workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
