Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a small team of 4 to 6 engineers within a dedicated squad.
- Set clear objectives that align team efforts with company-wide strategy and vision.
- Foster a culture built on trust, open feedback, and individual accountability.
- Support professional development through consistent coaching, mentorship, and stretch assignments.
- Deliver honest, actionable feedback on a regular basis.
- Conduct productive one-on-one meetings, evaluate performance, and contribute to hiring, growing, and retaining top engineering talent.
- Maintain deep knowledge of the team’s software architecture and system design.
- Guide technical decisions in partnership with senior engineers and promote code quality via reviews and testing.
- Champion engineering best practices including continuous integration, delivery, and system observability.
- Oversee planning and execution to meet team delivery timelines and roadmap goals.
- Collaborate with Product and UX to decompose complex initiatives into achievable tasks.
- Proactively identify project risks, communicate them to stakeholders, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Take ownership of delivering team outputs on schedule.
- Refine team processes to enhance efficiency and ensure coherence with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with Product and business leaders to shape product strategy and align technical execution.
- Coordinate with peer engineering managers and architecture governance to maintain technical consistency and share knowledge.
