About the Role
Manage and mentor a team of backend engineers responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance systems within the core product engine, ensuring alignment with long-term technical and business goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of backend engineers in designing and implementing scalable server-side systems
- Drive technical decision-making for core infrastructure components
- Collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to define roadmap priorities
- Mentor engineers in best practices for code quality, system design, and performance optimization
- Oversee the development lifecycle from planning to deployment and monitoring
- Ensure reliability, security, and scalability of backend services
- Identify and resolve technical debt and system bottlenecks
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement
- Recruit, onboard, and develop engineering talent
- Set performance goals and conduct regular feedback cycles
- Champion best practices in testing, observability, and incident response
- Work closely with data and machine learning teams to integrate backend services
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve system capabilities
- Manage sprint planning and team delivery timelines
- Ensure alignment with architectural standards across engineering teams
- Troubleshoot production issues and lead post-mortem analyses
- Promote reuse of services and APIs across product domains
- Support on-call rotations and system reliability efforts
- Balance short-term delivery with long-term technical vision
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-team collaboration
- Drive adoption of automation in deployment and monitoring workflows
- Represent engineering in strategic planning discussions
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for systems and processes
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security policies
- Guide the team in adopting cloud-native technologies and practices
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience in AI or machine learning infrastructure
