Responsibilities
- Be the front-line manager leading the Cloud Infrastructure team, through a mix of people, technical, and product leadership
- Inspire and lead the team through the next phases of growth ($100M+), including recruiting to grow the team, and adapting the team’s charter and vision, as the business needs evolve
- Partner closely with other functions in Engineering and cross-functional partners like Security and Finance to set direction, priorities, and ensure smooth collaboration
- Initially owning Watershed's Infrastructure team, and having the opportunity to expand scope of ownership to managing a sibling foundational team
Requirements
- At least 1-4 years of direct engineering management experience
- 6+ years of overall developer and management experience in total
- A strong platform engineering background of building business-specific systems that other engineering teams use, with thoughtful interfaces and smart abstractions
- Hands-on experience with GCP or comparable cloud provider and a typical cloud infrastructure feature set (eg: managing containerized compute, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, multi-region database architecture, observability, reliability & SLOs, cloud security)
- B2B experience
Nice to Have
- Big plus to have enterprise SaaS experience
- A mix of scrappy startup and big company experience is a plus

- This position is required to be in our San Francisco HQ
- Must be willing to work from an office 4 days per week (except for remote roles)
- Watershed has hub offices in San Francisco, New York, London, and Mexico City and satellite offices in Denver, Sydney, Paris, and Berlin. Where we have offices, employees are expected to be in office for 4 days per week.
