Suffolk is hiring an Engineering Manager, AI Platforms

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of robust retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and autonomous agent systems
  • Define effective strategies for managing multiple AI models and ensuring reliable inference
  • Implement cost management, fallback mechanisms, and evaluation frameworks within AI platforms
  • Evaluate and enhance agent safety, tool usage patterns, and system safeguards
  • Oversee architectural reviews for newly proposed AI services
  • Advance standards for API design, version control, and event-based system interactions
  • Ensure proper handling of retry logic, idempotent operations, and asynchronous processes
  • Promote strong observability and monitoring practices across AI systems
  • Identify and resolve accumulated architectural inefficiencies
  • Directly supervise AI engineering staff located in the United States
  • Provide technical leadership and structured support to engineering teams based in India
  • Perform regular code and system design evaluations
  • Mentor engineers in distributed systems principles and production readiness
  • Strengthen sprint execution and technical ownership within teams
  • Ensure reliable transition of AI prototypes into production environments
  • Collaborate with Product and domain-specific AI leads to shape well-designed systems
  • Work closely with DevOps on deployment pipelines, CI/CD, and infrastructure standards
  • Enhance consistency in delivery timelines and system dependability
