Scopely is hiring an Engineer

Scopely is looking for a Senior Server/Backend Engineer to join the team behind one of our largest games, Monopoly GO! You will collaborate across disciplines with a mission to make the game safer and fair for a massive player base. We are a global team passionate about inspiring play.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with infrastructure engineers, data engineers, product managers, and tech leadership on the mission of making the game safer and fair.
• Work on a wide range of technology, including front-end, mobile, server, and infrastructure.
• Create a significant impact in our largest game.
• Develop and maintain systems for a product with over 10 million daily active users.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (C#, Java, Go, C++, etc.) and willingness to learn C#/.NET if not already experienced.
• Fundamental understanding of Unity or similar game engines.
• Experience or familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and services such as DynamoDB, Redis, and EC2.
• A solid grasp of distributed system fundamentals like concurrency and latency.
• Comfort collaborating with data engineers and scientists in designing data-driven solutions.
• Experience collaborating with other disciplines (game design, product), including understanding and writing documentation.
• Willingness to learn and change areas of the system outside your comfort zone.
• An interest in cybersecurity, game integrity, and anti-cheat systems.

Technical Stack

• Unity mobile game with a .NET/C# back-end.
• AWS infrastructure (EC2, Memcache, DynamoDB, Redis, ElasticSearch).
• CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions, Bamboo, Spinnaker, and other tools.
• Monitoring with Datadog, Bugsnag, Kibana (OpenSearch), and the AWS console.
