About the Role
This position centers on firmware design for analog and Ethernet connectivity hardware deployed in data centers. The work includes embedded development, hardware initialization, test automation, and project tracking across the full product lifecycle within a dynamic startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and modify embedded C firmware for analog and Ethernet devices, including register setup, state machine logic, calibration routines, and control algorithms
- Support low-level hardware bring-up and debugging in collaboration with senior firmware engineers
- Implement features related to analog control, such as gain and equalization tuning, alongside Ethernet link management, SERDES setup, and diagnostic functions
- Maintain and enhance the firmware codebase by writing clean, modular, and reviewable code
- Create Python scripts to automate testing, gather performance data, and improve team efficiency
- Collaborate remotely with validation teams to define and execute test plans under varied operating conditions and edge cases
- Assist in expanding continuous integration systems and automated test frameworks as the team scales
- Support efforts to characterize firmware performance across different analog and Ethernet configurations, link states, and failure scenarios
- Keep project tracking tickets current, monitor personal progress, and proactively report obstacles
- Engage in code reviews and technical discussions on system architecture
- Communicate effectively with colleagues across firmware, silicon design, and applications engineering teams
