Responsibilities
- Gather stakeholder inputs to help define product requirements and convert them into actionable hardware specifications
- Create and update detailed hardware specifications considering technical standards, constraints, and design goals
- Construct and evaluate early-stage hardware prototypes to assess feasibility and identify design trade-offs
- Design and document circuit schematics and printed circuit board layouts using Altium Designer or similar software
- Assemble and test electronic circuits, then diagnose and resolve issues using standard laboratory equipment and methods
- Engage in formal design reviews and implement feedback and assigned action items
- Design and develop test setups and procedures to verify product performance against defined requirements
- Produce and manage manufacturing documentation such as assembly drawings, instructions, and test protocols
- Offer technical guidance and training to field service and repair teams when necessary
- Maintain comprehensive engineering records including test reports, user manuals, compliance documents, and evaluation summaries
- Conduct field testing in industrial environments such as warehouses or mining sites to collect performance data
- Monitor component availability and support lifecycle management by identifying obsolete parts and qualifying replacements
