Exmark & Spartan Mowers, a part of The Toro Company, is hiring an Electrical Design Engineer to research and design components and electrical systems for our Ditch Witch and Subsite branded products. You will play a key role in bringing innovative underground construction equipment to market.
What You'll Do
- Collect and analyze technical information from engineers, suppliers, product managers, and your own tests.
- Design concepts for circuits and systems using analog and digital techniques, interfacing sensors with microcontrollers.
- Design, implement, and test electrical circuits to verify compliance with specifications.
- Prepare technical design and production documentation.
- Define measurement techniques, tuning procedures, and special test fixtures for production.
- Develop desktop applications for Windows and Linux.
- Design for embedded Linux and bare-metal embedded systems.
- Serve as a department expert and consultant on technical matters.
- Coordinate product sustaining activities and documentation flow to other departments.
- Evaluate the feasibility of new technologies and methods for existing products.
- Meet expectations for creativity, productivity, quality, and safety.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- Engineer II: 2 - 4 years of experience (Advanced Degree in lieu of experience).
- Engineer III: 4 - 6 years of experience (Advanced Degree in lieu of experience).
- Knowledge or experience developing embedded firmware for 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers in C/C++.
- Knowledge or experience developing application software for embedded Linux systems (Qt/C++).
- Knowledge or experience developing desktop applications in C# or Python.
- Knowledge or experience with common communication busses such as SPI, I2C, RS232, and CAN.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Works well in a team environment.

- High degree of personal and professional integrity.
- Good problem-analysis and resolution skills.
- Strong process orientation and drive for continuous improvement.
