KLA seeks a Sr. Electrical Design Engineer to join the Global Products Group (GPG), Broadband Plasma Division (BBP). In this role, you will take ownership designing, implementing, and debugging Linux firmware for embedded sensing and communications systems within KLA's inspection products, guiding projects from initial concept through field deployment.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and debug Linux firmware for embedded sensing and communications systems like cameras and sensors.
- Learn different aspects of KLA products by developing features across areas including power electronics and signal processing.
- Design and develop system architecture covering hardware interfaces, sensing components, communication protocols, and software/hardware connectivity.
- Take end-to-end ownership of a project or product from concept and simulation through development, integration, and field deployment.
- Perform bring-up of new hardware, working with datasheets for device configuration.
What We're Looking For
- Strong capabilities for solving firmware issues using lab instruments and integrating hardware and software.
- Proficiency with Linux internals, networking, and Embedded Linux build systems.
- Proficiency programming in C and C++ in an embedded environment.
- Experience in low-level programming, including BSP coding and drivers.
- Experience in the design and development of multi-disciplinary products integrating software and electronics, with the ability to read and understand schematics.
- Familiarity with a modern DevOps stack and standards like git, SVN, and testing automation.
- Knowledge of various peripheral interface protocols: I2C, SPI, PCIe.
- Knowledge of Python.
- A Doctorate Degree and 3 years of related work experience; a Master's Degree and 6 years of experience; or a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience.
