Responsibilities
- Design and produce standards-aligned English language arts lessons
- Deliver live and recorded instruction to students remotely
- Assess student progress through assignments and feedback
- Revise curriculum based on performance data
- Collaborate with instructional designers on content improvements
- Maintain consistent communication with students and parents
- Ensure materials are accessible and inclusive
- Stay current with ELA education trends and best practices
- Develop reading comprehension and writing skill exercises
- Integrate technology tools into lesson delivery
- Support diverse learners with differentiated instruction
- Meet deadlines for content development cycles
- Participate in team meetings and professional development
- Follow established academic guidelines and policies
- Use learning management systems effectively
- Create assessments aligned with learning objectives
- Provide timely and constructive feedback
- Adapt content for various grade levels
- Maintain student confidentiality and data privacy
- Contribute to long-term curriculum planning
- Engage in peer review of teaching materials
- Troubleshoot technical issues during remote sessions
- Uphold academic integrity standards
- Support student motivation and participation
- Ensure content accuracy and cultural relevance
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in English or Education
- Experience teaching in fully online schools
- Background in literacy development
- Training in trauma-informed teaching practices
- Experience with project-based learning
- Knowledge of AP or IB English curricula
- Familiarity with ESL or ELL instruction
- Certification in online teaching
- Experience mentoring other educators
- Published work in education or literature
