Responsibilities

  • Offer expert guidance and support on health, safety, and environmental issues to management, safety officers, staff, and external parties such as contractors, suppliers, and site visitors.
  • Demonstrate leadership by modeling safe and responsible behavior in all activities.
  • Take initiative in addressing EHS-related matters proactively and efficiently.
  • Identify gaps in team knowledge, communicate training needs to project leads, and deliver necessary EHS training sessions.
  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections, then develop practical corrective and preventive action plans to ensure compliance and enhance EHS performance.
  • Monitor and report on EHS risks, key performance indicators, and trends using accurate data, and suggest actionable improvements.
  • Ensure all incidents are properly reported and investigated with professionalism to determine root causes and implement effective follow-up measures.
  • Maintain and regularly review site-specific EHS documentation, including EHS Plans, RAMS, and other compliance-related materials, ensuring alignment with legal and company standards.
  • Report directly to the EHS Manager, Site Managers, Supervisors, and Project Manager as required.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of organizational safety policies, environmental guidelines, risk assessments, legal requirements, and internal procedures.
  • Deliver instruction, training, and advice on EHS topics to all levels of personnel, including external stakeholders when applicable.
  • Perform internal audits and site checks with site leadership, document findings, and recommend improvements and corrective steps.
  • Collaborate with site teams to create project-specific EHS Plans, induction programs, and Risk Assessment Method Statements before and during project execution.
  • Ensure EHS Plans, inductions, and RAMS remain current, are periodically reviewed, and are shared with all affected parties, including clients and other contractors.
  • Visit new project sites to establish required safety documentation, registers, regulatory summaries, posters, and SEOR programs, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Review and validate contractor appointments to confirm competence and suitability for project work.
  • Implement strategies and controls designed to prevent workplace incidents.
  • Notify the EHS Manager, Project Manager, and Site Managers of any incidents or near-misses promptly.
  • Escalate ongoing or serious safety concerns to the appropriate personnel, with immediate reporting to management when necessary.
  • Keep records of all communications related to EHS matters with relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead or support incident investigations with site management, determine root causes, and recommend actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Review and audit the company’s site safety documentation, ensuring hazards are assessed, controls are in place, inspections occur, and incidents are resolved.
  • Produce and submit monthly KPI reports, site visit schedules, SEORs, and violation summaries to the EHS and Business Unit Managers.
  • Distribute updated Safety Data Sheets to the EHS Manager as needed.
  • Deliver workforce training using appropriate tools and formats tailored to the audience and subject matter.
