Responsibilities

  • Offer expert guidance and support on environmental, health, and safety matters to management, site personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and visitors.
  • Demonstrate leadership by modeling safe and compliant behaviors.
  • Take initiative in addressing all aspects of the role proactively.
  • Identify EHS training requirements, report them to project leads, and deliver training as needed.
  • Conduct audits and site inspections, then develop realistic corrective and preventive action plans to ensure compliance and drive continuous EHS improvement.
  • Monitor and report on EHS risks, key performance indicators, and trends using accurate data, and suggest actionable improvements.
  • Ensure all incidents are properly reported and investigated thoroughly to determine root causes and implement effective corrective measures.
  • Maintain up-to-date Site EHS Plans, Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS), and related documents, ensuring compliance with legal and internal standards through regular reviews.
  • Report directly to the EHS Manager, Site Managers, Supervisors, and Project Manager as required.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of company safety policies, environmental manuals, risk assessments, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures.
  • Deliver training, advice, and instruction on EHS topics to all relevant stakeholders, including external parties on site.
  • Perform internal audits and joint site inspections with management, document findings, and recommend improvements and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with site teams to create project-specific EHS Plans, induction programs, and RAMS before and during project execution.
  • Ensure EHS documentation is current, regularly reviewed, and communicated to all affected parties, including clients and contractors.
  • Establish site safety systems at new projects, including safety files (Series 500 & 600), registers, regulatory summaries, posters, and SEOR programs, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Review and verify contractor appointments to ensure only qualified and competent contractors are engaged.
  • Implement preventive strategies to reduce workplace incidents.
  • Report incidents and near misses promptly to the EHS Manager, Project Manager, and Site Managers.
  • Escalate identified safety concerns to responsible parties; report serious or recurring issues immediately to management.
  • Keep records of all EHS-related communications with stakeholders.
  • Lead or support incident investigations with site management, determine root causes, and recommend preventive actions.
  • Audit the site safety file system, verify risk assessments and controls, ensure inspections occur, and confirm all incidents are reported and resolved.
  • Prepare and submit monthly EHS performance reports, including KPIs, site visits, SEORs, and violations, to relevant managers.
  • Distribute updated Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to the EHS Manager.
  • Deliver targeted EHS training using appropriate tools and formats to ensure workforce understanding.
