Shape the editorial voice of audiobooks across Southern Europe. In this role, you’ll build and refine programming tailored to listeners in Italy, Spain, and Portugal, focusing on non-English language content. You’ll combine cultural awareness, data analysis, and industry relationships to highlight diverse voices and stories that resonate with local audiences.
What You’ll Do
- Develop editorial strategies that reflect regional publishing trends and cultural moments in Southern European markets.
- Curate and update collections, playlists, and recommendations, continuously testing and refining for impact.
- Use listener data, business goals, and qualitative insights to guide content decisions that attract broad and varied audiences.
- Build direct relationships with publishing partners, including sales representatives from key Italian- and Spanish-language publishers.
- Support on-platform content programming, ensuring editorial vision is clearly communicated and implemented.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in marketing, product, PR, and operations to elevate audiobook visibility and engagement.
- Monitor performance metrics and share insights that inform future editorial direction.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in content editing, curation, or merchandising within a digital platform, publisher, or major bookseller.
- Fluency in both Italian and Spanish, with strong written and verbal English skills for global collaboration.
- Deep interest in the Southern European publishing ecosystem and a proven ability to match content with audience needs.
- Skill in balancing commercial goals with inclusive, representative programming that reflects diverse cultures and perspectives.
- Ability to assess titles and authors quickly, identifying what fits different moods, formats, and listener contexts.
- Experience using both quantitative analytics and qualitative research to guide editorial choices.
- Strong organisational abilities and meticulous attention to detail in fast-moving environments.
- Passion for audio storytelling and the evolving landscape of spoken word content.
Preferred Background
Proficiency in Portuguese or another Southern European language is an advantage.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work remotely, based in Milan, Barcelona, or London. You’ll be expected to attend in-person meetings 2–3 times per week.
