The University of Lausanne is looking for a Doctoral Student to join a Swiss National Science Foundation-funded project. You will conduct comparative neuroscience research, using Caenorhabditis elegans and C. tropicalis to understand how differences in nervous systems generate different thermosensory behaviors.
What You'll Do
- Design and conduct experiments.
- Handle experimental documentation, data management and analysis.
- Contribute to lab culture by participating in discussions, journal clubs etc.
- Communicate results through presentations at lab meetings, conferences, and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
What We're Looking For
- Completed MSc in neuroscience, molecular biology, ecology and evolution, bioinformatics, data science or a related field.
- Excellent written and spoken English, strong communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to collaborative projects.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in any of: C. elegans, calcium imaging, genetics, molecular biology, programming (Python), data analysis/visualization and behaviour.
