Public Storage is hiring a District Manager

Responsibilities

  • Guide, manage, and develop people while serving as a brand ambassador and ensuring operational excellence.
  • Build an engaged team by recruiting, motivating, and retaining hourly front-line employees focused on customer service.
  • Drive team performance through effective communication and coaching on customer service and sales techniques.
  • Manage physical assets, including repair and maintenance systems, vendor relationships, and cleanliness standards.
  • Oversee processes for delinquent tenants, including auctions, by coaching the team to lower delinquency rates and improve customer retention.
  • Conduct monthly property audits to ensure operational standards and safety compliance are met.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by maintaining a welcoming and well-maintained environment through team efforts, facility upkeep, and vendor management.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Grow and sustain a robust business by using analytics to identify trends and develop strategies to capitalize on district opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and team members.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership in building, developing, and retaining high-performing teams of non-exempt employees in retail, service, hospitality, or a related industry.
  • Proven track record of top-tier performance.
  • Experience managing operational audits and payroll budgets.
  • Exceptional communication and time management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Passion for sales and customer service excellence.
  • Weekend availability by telephone.
  • Ability to work 6 weekends (Saturday or Sunday, not both) per year during peak season.
  • Occasional travel to other markets for support.
  • Future relocation ability for lateral and promotional opportunities.
