Orbital Sidekick is hiring a Director of Software Engineering to lead and scale our engineering function. In this role, you will define our technical vision, establish best practices, and guide the team developing our innovative solutions.

What You'll Do

Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Define and drive the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for our software platforms.
Establish and enforce engineering best practices for code quality, testing, delivery, and operations.
Collaborate closely with product management, program management, and other stakeholders to align technical execution with business goals.
Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and technical risk to ensure on-time delivery.
Recruit, hire, and onboard top engineering talent to scale the team effectively.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience (8+ years) in software development with a progression into technical leadership.
Strong background (3+ years) in an engineering management or director-level role, managing teams of engineers.
Deep expertise in modern software development methodologies, system design, and cloud architectures.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a technical vision that supports business growth.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Track record of building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing engineering teams.
