Responsibilities
- Oversee and grow the institutional giving strategy to raise over $1.5 million, with donations ranging from $1,000 to $250,000 or more.
- Develop and maintain relationships with more than 40 foundation, corporate, and government donors to ensure strong engagement with the organization and foster ongoing support.
- Identify and strategically cultivate new institutional prospects, implement tailored engagement plans, solicit and secure gifts individually and collaboratively, and steward donors to sustain long-term connections.
- Collaborate with organization-wide staff to create and submit persuasive, well-written proposals and reports with budgets and supporting materials for student life programs, the scholarship fund, and other key initiatives.
- Manage a comprehensive donor communication strategy, ensuring timely and high-quality engagement through acknowledgment letters, written correspondence, invitations, mailings, visits, calls, newsletters, and email blasts.
- Build strong relationships with board members and colleagues, engage the board's development committee in cultivating and stewarding institutional donors, and serve as a resource for the board and senior leadership in fundraising.
- Guide the executive director and board in prospect solicitation and donor stewardship by preparing research, talking points, email drafts, and meeting briefings.
- Collaborate on planning, executing, and fundraising for future capital and endowment campaigns.
- Mentor, train, and supervise institutional giving staff to meet departmental goals and needs and support their professional growth.
- Oversee work conducted for institutional giving by department staff and volunteers.
- Supervise maintenance of tracking systems, institutional giving mailing lists, and electronic and physical donor records.
- Manage the institutional giving expense budget.
