About the Role
This role is responsible for leading a team of engineers building and scaling the core product platform. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical leadership with experience in product-driven development and team management.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers working on core platform systems
- Collaborate with product and design teams to define and deliver key features
- Set technical direction for scalable, maintainable architecture
- Drive engineering best practices including code quality, testing, and deployment reliability
- Own delivery timelines and execution for core product initiatives
- Work closely with cross-functional leaders to align on priorities and roadmaps
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Recruit, onboard, and develop engineering talent
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies that support product goals
- Ensure systems meet performance, security, and compliance standards
- Translate business objectives into technical strategy
- Manage multiple concurrent engineering projects
- Promote reusability and consistency across engineering teams
- Champion observability and monitoring practices
- Support incident response and system reliability
- Participate in strategic planning at the executive level
- Improve engineering processes to increase team velocity
- Ensure alignment between engineering output and customer needs
- Maintain documentation standards across systems
- Balance technical debt with feature development
- Drive adoption of secure coding practices
- Lead post-mortems and improvement initiatives after major events
- Represent engineering in cross-departmental discussions
- Advocate for user-centric design in technical decisions
- Ensure accessibility and internationalization are considered in development
