Responsibilities
- Lead financial and accounting functions, guiding teams in financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, grant-specific expense tracking, and compliance reporting for government and private grants.
- Evaluate financial statements prepared by accounting staff to confirm adherence to GAAP standards.
- Develop annual budgets and monthly financial forecasts while delivering insights into client financial health.
- Manage the annual financial audit process, including A-133 compliance audits, coordinating documentation and communication with external auditors.
- Ensure all compliance reports are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
- Act as the primary financial contact for authorizers, county offices, and state and federal agencies.
- Train client personnel to implement and maintain effective internal controls.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure clear and accurate financial communication.
- Consistently deliver high-quality, precise financial information that exceeds client expectations.
- Build and sustain long-term partnerships with client leadership and administrative teams.
- Stay current on charter school funding models and industry developments through ongoing professional education.
- Support professional development of team members through coaching and mentorship.
