Responsibilities
- Establish and manage a high-performing category management function focused on direct procurement categories.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive category strategy that supports corporate cost reduction targets and operational needs for existing and future operating companies.
- Collaborate with business unit leaders and functional executives to assess demand, align sourcing initiatives, and enhance overall value delivery.
- Create and execute category-specific plans aimed at delivering value, mitigating supply risk, and improving supplier performance.
- Lead major sourcing events including RFPs, contract negotiations, and supplier selection in coordination with stakeholders and legal teams.
- Promote the use of preferred supplier agreements and catalog systems to reduce unauthorized spending and ensure adherence to procurement policies.
- Perform detailed market and spend analytics to uncover cost reduction opportunities and maximize purchasing leverage.
- Evaluate supplier performance across cost, service, quality, and compliance metrics, and lead improvement efforts where needed.
- Design inventory strategies that balance cost efficiency with sufficient stock levels to support production and customer service goals.
- Work closely with Accounts Payable and Finance teams to improve payment terms, capture rebates, and optimize working capital.
- Utilize procurement technology platforms such as Coupa to increase procurement visibility, automate processes, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Measure and report on sourcing savings, future opportunities, and category performance to senior leadership.
- Continuously refine sourcing tools, performance scorecards, and key metrics to enhance category management effectiveness.
- Take on additional responsibilities as required to support the growth and maturity of the category management program.
