About the Role
This role leads the strategy and execution of major gifts initiatives by cultivating relationships with high-capacity donors, driving significant contributions, and aligning donor interests with organizational goals to expand social impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive major gifts strategy
- Identify and engage potential high-capacity donors through targeted outreach
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with major gift donors
- Collaborate with leadership to align donor interests with organizational priorities
- Manage a portfolio of major donor prospects with personalized engagement plans
- Prepare compelling proposals and presentations for donor conversations
- Track and analyze donor engagement metrics to inform strategy adjustments
- Work cross-functionally to ensure donor interests are integrated into programs
- Represent the organization at events and donor meetings
- Mentor and guide team members on best practices in donor relations
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of donor interactions
- Support the planning of donor cultivation events and site visits
- Translate organizational goals into donor-focused narratives
- Monitor gift processing and acknowledgment procedures
- Contribute to annual fundraising goals through major gift attainment
- Stay informed about trends in philanthropy and donor behavior
- Develop materials for donor communications and reporting
- Facilitate donor advisory councils or engagement groups
- Align major gifts strategy with broader development initiatives
- Ensure compliance with gift acceptance policies
