Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a high-performing, talented and diverse group of staff based in the US, India, Africa, and Europe
- Work cross-functionally to deliver on both GMT goals and relevant market-shaping program goals
- Enlist, develop and mentor high potential talent on their teams
- Have budgetary responsibility for his/her team within GMT
- Take the lead in managing GMT grants and/or co-manage some large program grants
- Work alongside the VP GMT to define, build and maintain a “fit for purpose” structure for GMT
- Mobilize resources to support GMT’s “fit for purpose” model, including strengthening GMT’s integrated One Team approach with program and country teams
- Lead negotiations on key market-shaping interventions and mentor staff as it relates to supplier negotiations
- Engage actively in defining program strategies and leading the execution of the market-shaping aspects of those strategies
- Create and manage opportunities for CHAI’s sector influence, e.g. at strategic global level, to enhance CHAI's leading position as a global market shaper
- Support CHAI’s market-shaping goals and catalyse broader transformational change
- Be actively engaged in business development, managing donor relationships, supporting major grant submissions made by GMT and/or program teams
- Build long term collaborative relationships with peers in funding organizations
- Develop innovative programs that attract new donors to CHAI
Requirements
- Domain experience and expertise in negotiating product deals/access agreements with biopharmaceutical and diagnostic companies
- Domain experience and expertise in biopharmaceutical and diagnostic industry operations, as well as the development, manufacturing, and commercialization of drugs and diagnostics
- Domain experience and expertise in establishing sector influence by aligning various global health partners, from governments to donors, procurers, and guarantors, supporting deals
- Domain experience and expertise in market analysis and market research
- Domain experience and expertise in country and global regulatory systems for the approval of new drugs and diagnostics
- Domain experience and expertise in global public health funding and policy setting
- Proven ability to manage the global health political ecosystem
- Domain experience and expertise in multilateral funded health care programs in areas such as Malaria, TB, HIV, and Nutrition
- Ability to work effectively across a complex organizational matrix, including varying countries
- Ability to support CHAI Country teams to improve access to health commodities
