Responsibilities
- Apply and advocate for the organization's mission and guiding principles in all interactions.
- Deliver continuous assistance to residents in the Community Living Services program to uphold a high standard of living.
- Help with self-care routines, health, safety, household tasks, social interactions, and general well-being.
- Offer ongoing direction and support to individuals with intellectual and other disabilities to ensure their active involvement in all life areas, including self-care, health, safety, household chores, socialization, and well-being.
- Provide only the necessary level of assistance for each person to foster independence and engagement in their daily schedule.
- Support individuals in becoming active community members and in maintaining and developing natural supports and relationships.
- Maintain a safe and clean home by helping individuals with household chores and participating in these tasks as needed.
- Adhere to all treatment plans and use required adaptive and safety equipment for each individual to promote independence and ensure health, safety, and well-being.
- Assist individuals in meal preparation by teaching concepts such as dietary compliance, portion control, and cooking techniques.
- Help individuals with medication administration following AMAP policies and procedures.
- Implement and document all treatment plans and agency materials, such as residential habilitation goals, medical case notes, and communication logs, to support individuals in achieving their chosen valued outcomes and ensure their health, safety, and well-being.
- Comply with overtime, scheduling, and minimum staffing policies and procedures to ensure daily quality support for individuals.
- Act as a member of the interdisciplinary team by attending and participating in all meetings to discuss individual progress and goal achievements, and to share and gather information and ideas.
- Provide transportation for individuals to medical appointments, shopping, recreational outings, and other transportation needs.
- Mentor new Direct Support Staff by demonstrating support routines and reviewing training manuals to ensure new employees are adequately prepared for their duties.
- Participate in House Meetings and maintain all required certifications and training.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
