About the Role
This position involves recording depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings using digital audio systems, then verifying and securing the files for transcription and archival purposes.
Responsibilities
- Record legal proceedings using digital audio equipment
- Ensure clear and complete audio capture of all speakers
- Verify audio quality immediately after each session
- Securely transfer recorded files to authorized personnel
- Maintain accurate logs of all recorded events
- Follow protocols for file encryption and data protection
- Respond promptly to requests for audio retrieval
- Collaborate with legal teams to confirm scheduling details
- Confirm identities of participants at the start of each proceeding
- Adhere to legal and ethical standards for court reporting
- Operate recording equipment in various environments
- Troubleshoot technical issues during setup or recording
- Provide timestamps for key moments in proceedings
- Preserve chain of custody for all digital files
- Support post-session transcript preparation by others
- Attend sessions on time and remain present throughout
- Maintain professional conduct during legal proceedings
- Submit completed session documentation promptly
- Ensure compliance with state and federal recording laws
- Use backup systems to prevent data loss
- Store recordings according to retention policies
- Coordinate with technical support when needed
- Update software and firmware as required
- Report equipment malfunctions immediately
- Follow onboarding and training procedures
Compensation
Hourly contract rate based on experience and performance

Equipment Requirements
