Responsibilities
- Lead automation transformation by removing manual tasks in development and operations
- Design and deploy end-to-end CI/CD pipeline automation across the Corporate & Investment Bank
- Automate infrastructure setup using Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks and tools
- Implement GitOps for consistent configuration management and application deployment
- Integrate automated security validation, compliance verification, and dependency analysis
- Promote containerization with Docker and orchestration via Kubernetes or OpenShift
- Build resilient, self-healing systems requiring minimal human oversight
- Replace manual security assessments with automated security checkpoints
- Champion innovation in automation techniques and emerging technology adoption
- Lead prototyping efforts for new tools in service mesh, policy-as-code, observability, and GitOps
- Monitor advancements in DevOps, security automation, and AI applications in development workflows
- Develop proof-of-concept implementations for novel automation frameworks
- Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with new technologies prior to broad deployment
- Transfer knowledge and innovative solutions to development and business IT teams
- Define and maintain standards for automation excellence across units
- Share insights and strategic recommendations with senior IT leadership
- Develop a self-service automation platform to increase team autonomy
- Maintain internal platforms covering CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and security scanning
- Design Platform-as-a-Service layers that abstract underlying infrastructure complexity
- Empower developers to deploy code securely without relying on manual security approvals
- Ensure platform reusability across transversal IT and business units
- Enable automated provisioning, deployment, and rollback capabilities for development teams
- Promote platform adoption through training, documentation, and community engagement
- Identify and measure repetitive developer tasks that hinder delivery speed
- Focus on improving developer experience by reducing workflow friction and boosting productivity

- Innovation Leadership & Technology Prototyping Primary: Drive continuous innovation in automation practices
- Lead innovation lab activities — prototype and validate emerging automation technologies (service mesh, policy-as-code, advanced observability, GitOps tools)
- Conduct technology watch on DevOps, security automation, and AI4DevOps trends
- Create proof-of-concept implementations for cutting-edge tools/frameworks
- De-risk adoption of emerging technologies before enterprise-wide rollout
- Transfer innovations and competencies to Development Squad and Business IT teams (IT TRV, IT GMT, IT GBCR)
- Establish automation excellence center standards and best practices
- Present findings and recommendations to CIB CIO community
- Self-Service Platform Engineering Primary: Build automation platform enabling team independence
- Design and maintain internal platform (CI/CD, IaC, observability, security scanning)
- Create Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) abstractions hiding infrastructure complexity
- Enable developers to deploy code securely without manual security reviews
- Establish platform as reusable asset available to IT Transversal, GMT, and GBCR teams
- Build self-service capabilities (provisioning, deployments, rollbacks)
- Document and evangelize platform usage through training and community building
- Developer Experience & Productivity Innovation Primary: Reduce friction and enable developer happiness
- Measure 'developer toil' — manual, repetitive work slowing down delivery
