Responsibilities
- Design, build, and run cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability of services.
- Participate in a compensated 24/7 on-call rotation for one week every five weeks, plus a rotating week handling support cases during business hours.
- Collaborate with development teams to identify suitable cloud architecture solutions and assist with deployments.
- Provide tooling for building and monitoring products using VictoriaMetrics, Thanos, Loki, Datadog, and PagerDuty for alerting.
- Manage multiple Kubernetes clusters at scale and implement advanced deployment strategies with ArgoCD.
- Automate infrastructure with Terraform and CI, and maintain a multi-account AWS architecture, ensuring security and maintainability while provisioning new accounts as needed.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills to explain technical decisions clearly and work effectively across teams and time zones in Paris, Belgrade, and Taiwan.
- Collaborative team player who enjoys supporting developers and building good working relationships.
- Comfortable with autonomy as the engineer on the ground in Barcelona within a distributed team.
- Strong willingness to learn and grow into the infrastructure stack.
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Background as a DevOps/SRE Engineer or as a Software Engineer transitioning into DevOps with production and CI experience.
- Infrastructure and public cloud experience, primarily with AWS; GCP or Azure is a plus.
- Scripting or programming skills in Bash, Python, or Go.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, ideally AWS EKS, and GitOps/CD tooling such as ArgoCD.
- Infrastructure-as-code and automation experience with Terraform.
Nice to Have
- Experience running Kafka on Kubernetes via the Strimzi operator is a plus.
