Pulselive is looking for a freelance DevOps Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity and reliability of our software applications. Your focus will be on addressing technical issues, ensuring prompt customer solutions, and performing analyses and maintenance to enhance user experience and system functionality.

What You'll Do

Apply security patches to infrastructure and services
Perform regular backups and validate backup integrity
Rotate SSL/TLS certificates and other secrets as required
Monitor platform health and apply basic remediations
Clean up unused or legacy infrastructure components
Maintain and update internal runbooks and technical documentation
Review and standardise pipeline configurations for GitLab and ArgoCD
Troubleshoot and resolve basic build and deploy failures
Create reusable pipeline templates or automation scripts
Identify and automate routine tasks using scripting (e.g., Bash, Python)
Investigate and resolve back-end and infrastructure production issues
Troubleshoot technical issues or questions reported by customers

What We're Looking For

Experience operating distributed systems at scale
Excellent external and internal communication skills and team collaboration
Working knowledge of databases and SQL
Strong capability with infrastructure, specifically AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform
Good understanding of DNS, CI/CD workflows, and infrastructure as code
Observability experience with tools like Prometheus and Grafana
Development experience with object-oriented programming, such as Java
Diligence, quality-focused, and analytical skills
A proactive approach to contributing to organisational success
