About the Role
This position leads all aspects of fundraising and donor engagement, focusing on grants, individual giving, and special events to advance conservation efforts. The ideal candidate will combine strategic planning with hands-on relationship management to grow sustainable revenue.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of annual and multi-year fundraising strategies
- Identify and pursue foundation and corporate grant opportunities
- Manage relationships with individual donors and major gift prospects
- Organize and oversee donor events and stewardship activities
- Prepare compelling proposals and reports for funding partners
- Work closely with leadership to align fundraising with organizational priorities
- Track donor data and campaign performance using CRM systems
- Develop case statements and communication materials for fundraising
- Coordinate with marketing to promote giving initiatives
- Monitor fundraising metrics and adjust strategies as needed
- Engage board members in development activities
- Represent the organization at community events and meetings
- Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and contributions
- Cultivate new donor networks through outreach and networking
- Support planned giving program development
- Manage timelines for proposal submissions and reporting deadlines
- Collaborate with program staff to highlight project impact
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements and donor restrictions
- Develop sponsorship packages for events and projects
- Evaluate effectiveness of fundraising campaigns
- Contribute to annual budget planning for development activities
- Stay informed about trends in nonprofit fundraising
- Build relationships with regional philanthropic organizations
- Assist in capital campaign planning when needed
- Promote donor recognition initiatives
