Berkeley Research Group (BRG) is seeking a Design Operations Manager, HAP Tech to enable our designers to focus on high-impact, user-centered solutions. You will establish the systems, processes, and workflows necessary to scale design excellence across our organization, partnering closely with product designers, product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
What You'll Do
- Drive operational excellence by streamlining workflows, managing design tools, and building repeatable systems.
- Improve collaboration between design, product, and engineering by defining clear processes, rituals, and expectations.
- Partner with design and engineering to maintain and scale the design system.
- Build and maintain comprehensive design documentation.
- Support hiring processes and create a smooth onboarding experience for new designers.
- Help foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative design culture through team events and feedback loops.
- Define and track operational metrics that reflect design impact, team performance, and workflow health.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in Design Ops, Program Management, or similar roles supporting design or product teams.
- Deep understanding of design processes and cross-functional product development workflows.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with tools like Figma, Jira, Confluence, and Zeplin.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to balance short-term needs with long-term scalability.
- Passion for empowering creative teams to do their best work.
Nice to Have
- Background in design or UX.
- Experience scaling operations in a growing product or design team.
