Activate Talent is hiring a Demand Planner & BI Lead

Responsibilities

  • Create and update precise demand forecasts using historical performance, market dynamics, sales inputs, and promotional schedules across all sales channels.
  • Work closely with retail teams to project demand for Sephora and other wholesale partners, factoring in promotional timing, product launches, and seasonal patterns.
  • Manage demand planning and inventory replenishment models in spreadsheet-based tools to maintain ideal stock levels for direct-to-consumer operations.
  • Ensure data accuracy and produce recurring reports using planning platforms such as Cin7, DEAR, or similar ERP systems.
  • Coordinate with operations and logistics to align procurement with forecasted demand and supplier lead times.
  • Proactively detect and mitigate inventory issues such as stock shortages, excess stock, and product phase-outs.
  • Assist in planning for new product introductions by aligning marketing, product, and supply chain teams to ensure supply readiness.
  • Generate and deliver regular demand planning summaries with key metrics including forecast reliability, inventory turnover, and order fulfillment rates.
  • Lead the full monthly Sales & Operations Planning cycle, connecting commercial, operational, and financial planning efforts.
  • Facilitate S&OP meetings with department heads in marketing, retail, finance, operations, and product development to align on demand outlook and business priorities.
  • Gather, combine, and validate demand inputs from across the organization, ensuring plans are data-driven and context-aware.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to integrate demand forecasts into financial projections for revenue, cost of goods sold, and inventory planning.
  • Work with the marketing leadership to include campaign timelines, influencer initiatives, and promotional events in demand modeling.
  • Develop detailed, channel-specific, SKU-level demand forecasts across time horizons that align with overarching financial targets.
  • Monitor S&OP process outcomes, identify deviations, and implement improvements to forecasting precision and planning efficiency.
  • Drive the development of business intelligence systems, aiming to establish a unified, scalable reporting foundation before 2026.
  • Assess, deploy, and oversee BI platforms like Looker or Tableau to eliminate manual reporting and centralize trusted data sources.
  • Design and manage dashboards and automated reports tracking core commercial, operational, and financial performance indicators.
  • Support executive leadership with on-demand analysis and cross-departmental reporting for strategic planning.
  • Act as the primary steward of data quality across planning systems including Cin7, Shopify, and ERP platforms, identifying and resolving data issues.
  • Establish and maintain data models and reporting standards to support future growth and formal reporting to investors and the board.
